Ride on Kids
This past week, both Thompson and William participated in Ride On Kids, a local nonprofit founded by 2012 Olympic Silver Medalist Cyclist Lauren Tamayo. The program's goal is to promote getting kids outside and on bike with a 100% focus on creating a fun environment where kids can improve their bike skills. The current program is offered twice a week for three weeks, so four more clinics remain. Skills have included turning, braking, weaving, riding in a pace line and time trials. The boys have done remarkable well - Thompson on a road bike (he's beyond thrilled!) and William as the youngest participant at 4-years old and practicing using his 20" bike (we are impressed with his attentiveness). As an added bonus the first day, Lauren's friend and New Zealand Olympic cyclist Rushlee Buchanan joined the kids.
