Swamp Rabbit Trail

Sunday we headed to Travelers' Rest, SC with Herbie and NayNay to tackle the Swamp Rabbit Trail, a multi-use greenway system that begins in Travelers Rest and runs along the Reedy River connecting Greenville County with schools, parks and local businesses.  We rode 11 miles into Greenville then stopped and enjoyed a picnic lunch along the river before heading back to the car.  As for William, he too pedaled all 22 miles (with only a few "are we there yet" in the final miles).

Bobby and I completed our first half marathon this morning on the Biltmore Estate alongside 928 other half-marathoners.  Our primary goal: to finish.  And that we did!

Just got off the phone and discovered W asleep with Oakley. (I assure you this is t staged. W's been home with a GI bug.)

Lots of Learning Going On

William came home from school yesterday and proudly told us he did math.

As for Thompson, we continue to be beyond pleased with his education experiences at INVEST COLLEGIATE Imagine this year.  And to this end, we were overjoyed to read the following excerpt from the Head of School's correspondence to all families last night:

Celebrate Third Grade!!!

Our third grade learning community has lots to celebrate!  Our entire staff voted to determine which learning community had created and maintained the best physical learning environment and third grade won by a landslide!  They will be receiving a gift card from Target to use for their classrooms.

Also, our third, fourth and fifth graders are competing fiercely for multiplication mastery and third grade won the first of three check-ins.  They have earned a movie night at school next Friday, March 13th at 6pm.  We can't wait to celebrate this success with all of them and you!

I believe this speaks volumes to the outstanding leadership of the two third grade Collegiate Leaders, how they are working with each Champion, and how each third grade Champion is embracing and living the mission of the school.
