Snow Day
The forecast was right, and we woke up to a beautiful blanket of snow! Five inches fell overnight and the morning was perfect to be outside (overcast skies, no wind, and no bitter cold). Thompson got to work early and helped shovel the driveway...then it was time to play! The boys sledded, helped construct a snow fort, partook in a few snowball fights, and just enjoyed being outside with their friends. Bobby and I managed a few sledding trips down the hill and some great laugh.

Snow (& Ice) Days
While more sleet and ice fell instead of snow last week, it didn't deter the boys from getting outside and enjoying the winter weather. As for today, we woke up to about 2 inches of snow, which provided much more fun when it comes to sledding. I think we may get a brief break tomorrow, but the weather pundits are forecasting more snow tomorrow night. We shall see...

Basketball Season - Go Gators!
Thompson's first season of basketball concluded this past weekend with a 8-3 record. They made it to the championship game, only to suffer a 2-point loss. Thompson had a great season, finishing with his best defensive game yet. In large part, the Gators began as novices, with only 3-4 players having played basketball previously; however, they concluded as a remarkable young TEAM. As a spectator, it was clear, their success was a direct result of each child's commitment to their teammates, willingness to learn, and the dedication and leadership of three great coaches. Each player showcased continued growth and I think the best part was watching each player come willing to be part of a team and demonstrating patience and humility. Next up...soccer season...
