Hello Dolly!

We returned last night from a two-day excursion to Dollywood. That's right...Dollywood! Our neighbors invited us to join them and another neighborhood couple for the Memorial Day Weekend. Thompson had a great time and was able to enjoy a handful of "rides" himself: driving a car, riding the flying elephants, flying a bumble bee, riding on the carousel and splashing in the fountains. However, we think he most enjoyed looking at, hearing and riding on Klondike Katie, the steam engine. He is still talking about the train, its whistle and the conductor. And believe it or not, but mommy and daddy were able to get in a couple thrilling rides on a few of the big roller coasters too!

Drenched

To cool off this afternoon, Thompson joined one of our neighbors...his dear friend Anna...for a sprinkler party. While I think Thompson tested the sprinkler a couple times last summer, I think this is the first time that he went "all in". And with a pair of goggles on loan from Anna, he was ready for action!

Thompson anxiously awaits the arrival of the "I Stink" truck each Wednesday morning. And if we are home, he'll make certain we go outside to watch the men work their way down the street, rolling and dumping, rolling and dumping. Thompson beings waving "hello" to them about two houses prior to ours and today proceeded to clap for them after dumping each can...priceless!

A High Calling

...to be a parent. Today, we simply wanted to publicly thank our mothers (now better known in our home as Annie and Ma-mere) and all mothers. Being a mother is one of the highest callings the Lord could bestow upon a woman. We thank our moms for the legacy of love that they learned from their mothers and have passed down to us. Happy Mother's Day!
