This week...in review
To say it's been a busy week would be an understatement! Bobby stayed in Cashiers Monday night and returned Tuesday evening, only to get back in the car with Thompson and Avery for a quick rendezvous to Greensboro. We drove to Winston-Salem Wednesday morning to visit with Heidi, a "Salem sister", who is in the hospital on bed-rest carrying triplets. As of today, she is 30 weeks and 6 days with a goal to make it to 32 weeks. And from what we can tell, it looks like she'll do just that! After visiting Heidi, we drove back to Greensboro where Bobby attended a NC Real Estate Commission Broker-in-Charge course Wednesday afternoon and all day Thursday. We got to see Bobby's brother Ash and his girlfriend Beth Wednesday evening. Thursday morning found Thompson and mom at Greensboro's Children's Museum (which by the way is absolutely fabulous!) and then at Jason's Deli for lunch with Bobby's aunt, Ma-mere and Pa-pere. We arrived home late last night. Bobby headed to Lonesome Valley this morning while Thompson and I went to the gym for some personal time and then together time in the pool. Needless to say, we're looking forward to being "around" this weekend!

You can't always get what you want
"I want it" seems to be one of Thompson's favorite phrases these days. Two weeks ago it sounded phonetically like "mu-knee", which caused us a bit of frustration as he wasn't able to put his sign language to work for him. Nevertheless, we are glad to finally understand what he is saying, although it is tough to learn that you can't always get what you want.
Over the past two weeks, Thompson's enthusiasm for "driving" in the car has increased by leaps and bounds. I never thought we'd have to ration the number of times he pretends to drive our car! He also loves sitting in the stool to observe and help mom as she works in the kitchen. Who knows, we may have a future chef!?

The Jones Family...at-large!
On July 31, we joined the "greater" Jones family in Lawrenceville, GA to remember the life of Bobby's father, Robert Edwin Jones, Sr., who passed away July 22 after a long battle with alcoholism. While the death of a loved one is never easy, the outpouring of support from family and friends has been deeply appreciated. As for Thompson, this was the first time he met several of Bobby's extended family, including his great-grandmother!
