Communion

So Thompson just came to me with a quarter and a little brown box and said, "Here, you need to take this. And pretend to eat it."

To which I nodded and continued with my work (mind you it is his quiet time, my work time and William's sleepy time).

Thompson continues, "You know at Summer Chapel when you go up to the front and get a cracker with a cross on it and then you put it in the cup and eat it?" Nodding affirmatively, he says, "Go ahead, try it," handing me the quarter to dip into the brown box.

Ahh, the experience of communion through the eyes of a child...I simply love it! He remembers so much more than we could ever imagine and his recreation of such experiences are one of the many ways he delights us.
