What a day!

Well, Thompson and I (mommy) arrived in Greensboro yesterday afternoon as we are en route to the Outer Banks with my family for a week. We will be joining three other families with whom my family has vacationed at the beach each summer with for the past +20 years. Sadly, we had to leave daddy behind as work was calling his name.

This was a Friday full of adventure! Ma-mere (Mama) and Pa-pere (Baba) took Thompson to the Asheboro Zoo this morning. According to my parents, Thompson seemed more fascinated with the equipment found at the zoo than the animals. Imagine that!? Following a great afternoon nap, we walked to Center City Park where Thompson delighted in seeing the waterfalls and spent 20+ minutes using his imagination to turn a bird statue into his own personal digger! Next, we stopped by one of Mama and Baba's friends to see four two-week old puppies. And we completed our evening with a Greensboro Grasshoppers basketball game. Oh...and did I mentioned that we've seen and heard trains morning, noon and night?!

On a final note, while departing the baseball game, we ran into some of my cousins (Kelly and Kelly Harrill, Haley, Maggie and Josey) as well as two dear friends from high school, Doug and Tricia Milton Shaw and their two children. What a pleasant surprise and great way to end the day. Outer Banks...here we come!
