Loose Tooth

After waking up this morning, Thompson proudly showed us his first loose tooth (and not surprisingly, has told everyone he's met today about it as well!).  It's defintiely loose, so now we wait and see how long it takes to come out.  I'm wondering if it will be out by next Monday when the boys see Dr. Chad for their semi-annual dental check-up?

WY's New Kicks

William got his "first" pair of athletic shoes this afternoon. In getting Thompson a pair for school and his "triathlon training", I figured our active little man was ready for his own pair. (T's hand-me-downs can only take WY so far in certain areas.). It's hard to believe how old he looks now!

We are both pleased with our efforts.  Swim component could best be described as chaos in the pool (some lanes felt like trout runs).  So given that scenario, the swim times are what they are.  I achieved my goal of 45 minutes on the bike and wasn't too far off my 30 minute run goal.

Tour Party

To add to our already busy Sunday, after freshening up after the triathlon, we headed to the Cumbies for their 3rd annual Tour de Brunch gathering to watch the final stage of the Tour de France. Unlike previus years, this year, we opted to go "festive" sporting each of the jersey colors.

"tri"-ing it again (and for the first time)

Bobby and I completed the Asheville Triathlon this morning...woohoo! Over 245+ participated in the 400 meter swim, 12 mile road ride and 3 mile run. Preliminary results show Bobby posting 1:19:20 (95th) and me at 1:28:48 (142th), finishing within the times we set for ourselves Stay tuned for the official results.

WY's first ride with pedals!

Much to our surprise, William pedaled a bike (without training wheels) on his own last night!  It wasn't pretty, but he did it!  As we reflected on this accomplishment, we realized he really took to the strider no more than 3 months ago.  WOW!



William's Inaugural Movie-going Experience

With Thompson at Arboretum Camp this week, I figured this was the week to take William to the movie theater.  So, today was the day.  We went to the $1 summer movie showing of Rio!  He was quiet and stayed in his seat with his eyes glued to the screen (aside from the couple times he wanted a bathroom break).  We didn't make it through the entire movie, leaving with about 15-20 minutes to go.  He noted the sound was too loud at the beginning and it would need to be turned down so as not to hurt his ears.  When the movie started, he proudly told me they had turned the noise down.  And of course, no trip to the movies is complete until you've had popcorn, which he loved.  He even asked me if I liked the special movie popcorn.  All in all, a great outing!
